The following guidelines will help you get the most out of the CTRL Collective Slack community.
The Purpose
Welcome to the CTRL Collective Slack Group! The goal of this Slack Group is for the members of our community to collaborate and communicate with each other, ask (and answer) questions, post ideas & insight, and encourage one another.
To accomplish this, we strive to keep the community a positive space that can be enjoyed by everyone, and we ask every member of the CTRL Collective community to be respectful of this space and one another at all times.
This code of conduct outlines our expectations for all members of the CTRL Collective Slack community, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior. By taking part in CTRL Collective’s community, including activity on the Slack workspace, you are agreeing to follow this Code of Conduct.
We invite all members who participate in CTRL Collective activities to help us create safe and positive experiences for everyone.
The following behaviors are expected and requested of all community members:
Be Kind to One Another.
CTRL Collective is at all-time committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming community for everyone, regardless of ability, gender identity, race, ethnicity, physical appearance, religion, age, body size or any other characteristics.
Harassment, offensive language or any form of inappropriate behavior is not tolerated. Please avoid posting personal attacks, threats, profanity, or sexually explicit language in your activities within the community. If you feel that there is inappropriate activity taking place on this Slack Group and don’t feel comfortable addressing it directly, please let a community manager know as soon as possible.
CTRL Collective reserves the right to make judgement calls about what is and isn’t appropriate behavior. This could result in removal of members from the channel.
Be Welcoming.
We strive to be a community that welcomes and supports people of all backgrounds and identities. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and religion (or lack thereof).
Be Helpful.
Your knowledge and insight can be used by other people, and you in turn will depend on the work of others.
CTRL Collective is a pay-it-forward community. If someone in the community has helped you, please give back by helping someone else!
Be Respectful.
It’s important to remember that a community where people feel uncomfortable or threatened is not a productive one. Members of the CTRL Collective community should be respectful when dealing with other members as well as people outside our community.
Be Positive.
This community is provided solely to promote a positive environment for our members to connect with each other. Any negative remarks will be deleted immediately and the posters subject to removal of the community.
If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t slack it at all.
Be Professional.
We are a community of professionals, and we conduct ourselves professionally. Do not insult or put down other members or people outside the community. Harassment and other exclusionary behavior aren’t acceptable. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Violent threats or language directed against another person or in general.
- Discriminatory jokes and language.
- Posting sexually explicit or violent material.
- Posting (or threatening to post) other people’s personally identifying information (“doxing”).
- Personal insults.
- Unwelcome sexual attention.
- Speaking about another member in a negative or ill mannered way.
- Passive aggressive remarks.
- Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.
- Repeated harassment of others. In general, if someone asks you to stop, then stop.
We reserve the right to delete excessive self-promotional or commercial posts.
Content that has been identified as objectionable, inappropriate, or off-topic will be subject to deletion by channel moderators. Posters will receive a warning and risk being blocked from the channel if unacceptable behavior persists.
These decisions are made by CTRL Collective in its sole discretion.
